Depo Provera Detox
There have been a lot of horror stories from women who had been injected of Depo Provera, a form of contraceptive. First introduced in the United States back in 1992, the synthetic hormone progestin injection became an effective contraceptive that virtually eliminates the likelihood of pregnancy for three months.
It prevents the ovary from actually releasing the egg cell and solidifying the cervical mucus so that the sperm will not be able to travel toward the fallopian tube. However, it caused great alarm because of the adverse side effects it also produced such as significant increase in weight, skin lesions and acne breakouts, and abnormal amount of hair fall. It also triggered a lot of psychological complications including depression, extreme paranoia, irritability, and gradual withdrawal from society.
From the Depo-Provera's Website :
"Use of Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection may cause you to lose calcium stored in your bones. The longer you use Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection the more calcium you are likely to lose. The calcium may not return completely once you stop using Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection.Loss of calcium may cause weak, porous bones (osteoporosis) that could increase the risk that your bones might break, especially after menopause. It is not known whether your risk of developing osteoporosis may be greater if you are a teenager when you start to use Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection."
A lot of women have immediately discontinued regular injections of Depo Provera upon learning and actually experiencing some of the negative side effects. However, discontinuation will not discount the fact the synthetic hormone is also present in the body, and some effects prove to be irreversible.

I am 44 years old and I have been on Depo for 10 years. I have had many of the symptoms many you have had, hair loss, headaches, neck and back stiffness, lack of libido, dry skin, insomnia, heart palpatations, etc. I stayed on the shot because of one reason, it was the only thing that helped with my suicidal depressions. - LiandreI got on the depot shot in may of 2007 and i was on the shot till december of 2007 and in that little period of time i did not have period. three months after being off it i experienced lower abdomenal pain i went to the doctor to find out that all my female organs shut down and had no female hormones. -Anonymous

If you had are undergone the infamous birth control shot, the best possible method to control the damage it can do to your body is undergoing a detoxification process to effectively flush out the harmful chemicals in your system. Depo Provera detox is actually a very simple but very effectively solution to minimize the ill effects brought about by the contraceptive injection.
A Depo Provera detox diet plan would include increasing water consumption, eating raw and fresh organic vegetables and juices, and drinking cleansing herbal teas. You can also have a sauna session, lots of physical exercise and fresh air to efficiently rejuvenate your body.
However, the Depo Provera detox should never be done immediately at the early stages of adrenal strengthening. The said diet program should not be treated as the ultimate solution, but rather a complimentary strengthening program. Aside fro the Depo Provera detox, women can also undergo acupuncture and acupressure sessions that would significantly boost the adrenals in the body.
Women who have used the Depo Provera in longer periods of time would need to undergo a more intense detoxification process since it naturally means there are higher amounts or chemical residue present in their body as compared to women who have had one or two shots.
A numerous cases of tampering with the natural processes of the human body have negatively resulted to many health complications. The Depo Provera horror stories are not an isolated case. Women and even men should be more cautious and wary with the different varieties of synthetic products in the market today. What you might think as the ultimate solution may do more harm to your body than good.

Hi, I’ve was on Depo Provera for about 10 years to control my endometriosis, I recently had one ovary removed (the one that had endo) and stopped taking the Depo shot. It’s been about 5 months since my last shot. Everything I’ve read about coming off the drug I’m experiencing. I’m wondering since I was on it for so long what type of detox you would suggest. All the sites that I’ve been reading say that if you’ve been on it for a long time you’ll need a more extensive detox program, but what does that consist of? Thanks for any advice you can give!
